Mozilla Firefox 3 Web Browser
Mozilla has announced the release of its Firefox 3 Web browser which is available for download with improved security, memory usage, and the ability for users to run Web sites when they are not connected to the Internet. The new browser, still considered a trial version, has been in development for several months and aims to better compete against rival Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Apple’s Safari browser. Engineers at Mozilla are still putting the finishing touches on the software and hope to release the final version of Firefox 3 by the end of June. The final version is expected to include improvements to the look and feel of the program and its stability.
Newly appointed eBay Chief Executive John Donahoe has implemented changes as part of a restructuring plan to improve eBay’s Internet auction business. Under the new structure, certain formerly separate units have been united, in an effort to shift focus to more important areas of the business, including customer support, finance and legal functions. eBay has also announced 125 job cuts across its world offices, as part of its internal reorganization. It said the changes are designed to make the company’s services easier to use, with a goal to reinvigorate the online auction site. Despite the job cuts, eBay said it was still working to increase its workforce of over 15,000 employees.
