Windows 7 Equipped With Multi Touch Interface
Microsoft plans to introduce a Windows multitouch-technology powered user interface as part of its Windows 7 operating system set to replace Windows Vista in late 2009. The announcement was made as part of Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer and Chairman Bill Gates keynote speech at the Wall Street Journal D: All Things Digital conference. The multitouch technology, as its called, give users the ability to use touch for fingertip control of their screens, and could help revolutionize how personal computers and mobile phones are controlled in the coming years. A key feature of the technology allows for multiple touches simultaneously, and could also be used to manipulate photos, trace routes on a map, or paint pictures. Ballmer noted that the rollout of Windows 7 needs to be handled differently than Windows Vista when it comes to compatibility, upgrading, and not drastically altering the way things look.
Yahoo has announced updates to its crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms. Starting yesterday, the updates will take effect over the next few days and could result in possible ranking changes and page shuffling in the index. Yahoo also announce a free Webinar for Yahoo advertisers Thursday May 29 to explain the recent changes regarding the way Yahoo minimum bids are set for Sponsored Search. The Free Yahoo Webinar will cover the recent changes associated with the pricing update, as well as an overview of new account features and functionality, best practices for keyword and ad quality management, along with examples, and an opportunity to ask questions.
