JetBlue Expands in-flight Test, Adds Amazon and Others
JetBlue Airway has been testing in flight email and instant messaging services with Yahoo Mail and Research in Motion’s, Blackberry Mail on one of its A320 jetliners, and now plans to extend the test to include an in-flight version of Amazon.com shopping service and email and messaging from other email providers including Microsoft Exchange corporate email, Google Gmail, AOL Mail, Hotmail and Windows Live Mail.
Google Sued Over Fraudulent Mobile Services Advertisers
Google is facing a lawsuit for what one New Jersey woman claims is negligence on Google’s part with regards to protecting its users. Jenna Goddard claims Google is putting profits before user protection by failing to ban online ads for fraudulent mobile services, despite obvious ad policy violations. Goddard claims to have used Google to search for the keyword “ringtone” and subsequently clicked on AdWords ads that led her to "Fraudulent Mobile Subscription Services Web sites," which failed to display pricing information, a violation of Google’s mobile services ad policy. She was charged for premium text messages in the process. Goddard's attorney is seeking class-action certification on behalf of others believed to have been subject to deceptive mobile phone services that have been advertised on Google.
Yahoo has forged a multi-year partnership with Walmart.com to let the online retailer leverage its advertising platform to provide new online video and display advertising offers to Walmarts online customers. Under the agreement, Yahoo also becomes the exclusive portal to resell Walmart.com's display inventory. Wall Mart will now be able to monitor ad performance with access to Yahoo tools and will ultimately become part of AMP from Yahoo, the advertising management platform that will become available to publishers later this year.
