Twingly Launches Self Proclaimed Spam-free Blog Search Engine
Swedish startup Twingly has launched its spam free blog search engine to the public in beta test form, which only adds blogs to the Twingly index once its algorithm has verified the blog is legitimate, based off other blogs it links to. The spam-free index currently includes about half a million blogs, compared to 30 million in the regular Twingly search index, given that the blogs are individually added to ensure quality. Adding an interactive element, users can enhance search results by linking to or clicking on the “like” button next to favorable listings. Twingly includes a feature that lets bloggers to add a widget to their site to also be indexed within the Twingly search engine. Another feature Twingly has added is what it calls "hot right now," which looks at what’s creating a buzz in the blogosphere, by analyzing what popular topics bloggers are writing about.
