IAC Creates Ad Network To Target "Audience Cubes"
IAC, byway of its newly formed Advertising Solutions ad network, will provide advertisers with advanced methods for delivering messages to a targeted audience across 26 IAC owned web properties, including Evite, Citysearch and Match.com. IAC Advertising Solutions breaks the target segments up by what it calls “Audience Cubes,” including 18-34 years old, Men, Women, Affluents, Parents, Active Shoppers, Active Travelers, Homeowners, and Sports Fans. In addition to the nine Audience Cubes already available, IAC/AS plans to roll out additional offerings over the course of the next few months.
Google Trends For Websites: Adds URL Traffic Measurement
Google, last Friday, rolled out a new layer of its Google Trends search measurement tool that lets users view the popularity of specific websites, compared to other websites in terms of traffic, viewable on a charted graph. Users of the feature can also view information specific to a geographic location, other sites that its visitors frequent, and terms that those visitors search for on Google. The Google tool serves as an alternative to other well established players in the traffic data space, including Compete, Comscore and Alexa. The measurement tool, like the others, provides an estimate, gathered from a variety of sources, such as aggregated Google search data, aggregated opt-in anonymous Google Analytics data, opt-in consumer panel data, and other third-party market research.
Google's Matt Cutts: Tips On Increasing Web Site Visibility
Hoping to get to the top of Google’s search engine result page, but don’t know where to start? USA Today sat down with Google Engineer Matt Cutts to get the inside scoop on what to do to achieve visibility in Google’s search rankings. Cutts outlined 5 points, including highlighting relevant search terms within the body of a web page, filling in title and description tags to effectively communicate with search engines, getting other, better ranking web sites to link back to increase a websites popularity, creating a blog and posting often to encourage link action, and to register for free Google tools for valuable data and to provide Google with all the pages of a web site. Cutts also pointed out one misconception about getting Google visibility, in order to be found at the top of Google's rankings, its not necessary to advertise.
