Google Gets Into Business Reviews & Ratings
Google is making it easy for anyone to rate and review businesses from a mobile device. To add your two cents to Google’s collection of information.
go to www.google.com on your mobile browser Search for the business by name and location like "example sf ca” Click on the business name on the results page to view details Scroll down and click on "Sign in to write/edit your review"
Opinions are published for access by the millions of Google Maps users around the world. The Business Review feature is currently only available on non-iPhone handsets in the US, but Google plans to add an iPhone version and international coverage at a later date.
Microsoft’s Live Mesh service, first introduced on an invitation only basis in April, is now openly available to anyone in the U.S. with a Windows Live ID. Live Mesh lets users share and synch files and programs on all devices included in a persons personal Mesh. It also syncs those files to the Live Mesh Desktop, which is Mesh's "cloud" - an online web site users can access from any computer. Microsoft expects to add features that will let people use mobile phones and computers running Apple's Mac OS to access the content at a later date. The release of Live Mesh follows the release of rival Apple’s MobileMe service. Apple launched MobileMe on Friday and was overwhelmed by people trying to use the new offering. On Wednesday it apologized and offered subscribers 30 days free. MobileMe costs $99 a year; Live Mesh is free.
