Google Debuts Google Video For Business
Google is making it easier for employees equipped with Google Apps Premier edition to communicate within an organization by providing the tools that enable them to take advantage of the power of video, made capable with the introduction of Google Video for business, a new application that makes communicating through video as easy as via email or instant messaging. Unlike corporate video of the past that was often expensive and complicated, Google Video for business lets members of an organization easily upload a video and invite other members to view it in two easy steps. Some notable facts pertaining to Google Video for business are:
1. Videos can run for an hour or more, versus the 10 minute limit available on YouTube.
2. Finding specific segments of a video is made easy with identified scene transitions.
3. Google Apps Premier Edition, which costs $50 per year per user, now includes Google Video for business at no additional cost.
4. Videos can be used in standard quality or high-resolution formats and are also available to designated corporate users of the Apple iPhone.
A version for Google Apps Education Edition customers is also available and allows faculty and staff to upload and share videos with students as part of a free trial starting September 8 and running until March 9, 2009, at which point it will cost $10 per user, per year.
