Linkedin and CNBC Forge Partnership
Professional networking website Linkedin has forged a string of strategic alliances in part to keep up with rival Facebook in the online social networking space. Following a successful $53 million round of funding secured in June, in July Linkedin entered an advertising deal with the New York Times. Late last year a deal with BusinessWeek magazine gave Linkedin users the power to connect with other Linkedin members who were part of a company discussed in BusinessWeek magazine articles. Most recently, Linkedin has formed a strategic alliance with CNBC to distribute CNBC content across the Linkedin network, such as articles, blogs, and video, and conversely, community-generated content from Linkedin will be broadcast on CNBC, including survey results and polls. CNBC will also integrate Linkedin functionality onto its website to enable users to share and discuss news with their professional contacts.
