At last week’s PubCon conference in Las Vegas SearchEngineWorld video content producer Vanessa Zamora caught up with Melanie Mitchell, who is vice president of marketing for online brokerage Folio Investments, Inc., and had the opportunity to conduct a video interview touching on Mitchell’s role at the Washington D.C. area company and how she uses technology in her work for the company.
Mitchell, who was formerly the vice president of SEO and SEM at Time Warner Inc.’s AOL, shared her thoughts on building customer trust, combining new media with traditional methods, finding a target audience and identifying how people find the Folio Web site.
During the PubCon interview Mitchell told Zamora about Folio and its efforts to augment the traditional financial advising process through education, how to avoid common marketing mistakes, and revealed how her role has changed since working at AOL. Mitchell also discussed cookie tracking, paid search, understanding the needs and behaviors of current and potential online customers, and shared her thoughts about finding the trends that are likely to be generating buzz in the future.
