At the recent PubCon conference in Las Vegas SearchEngineWorld video content producer Vanessa Zamora caught up with Brad Geddes, who is the founder of Internet marketing training and consulting company bg Theory, and had the opportunity to interview Geddes about the four-month-old startup and what it offers.

Geddes, who was formerly the director of search engine marketing for LocalLaunch.com, shared his thoughts about landing page optimization, a topic he spoke about during PubCon, including the importance of examining where to send search traffic for informational queries.

Geddes told SearchEngineWorld about bg Theory’s Google AdWords seminars that target advertisers, agencies and aggravators, and why it is important to keep up with the frequent system tweaking done by Google and Yahoo.

He spoke about using services such as Yelp and the local search offerings from Google and Yahoo to become engaged in social media and brand management, and the evolution of universal search result sets.

Geddes also offered his thoughts on learning how people conduct searches by placing yourself into the consumer’s shoes, how holiday season marketing should differ from regular season marketing, and the differences between the online shopper and the ultimate consumer.

Before leaving, Geddes told Zamora about breaking down a Web site's audience and examining each segment it contains, and shared his thoughts about PubCon, a conference he said is for finding the best tips and tricks from “the people who actually do the work.”
