At the most recent PubCon conference in Las Vegas SearchEngineWorld video content producer Vanessa Zamora had the opportunity to spend some time with Rae Hoffman, who is the founder and principal of Internet consulting company Sugarrae SEO Consulting, and interviewed Hoffman about the history of her firm, what it does and where it is headed.
Hoffman shared the story of a traumatic event in the early life of her son out of which grew a support and resource Web site that ultimately served more than 5,000 families and which led her to affiliate marketing to monetize the site.
In their PubCon interview Hoffman told Zamora about learning HTML and early search engine optimization techniques that led to the eventual formation of MFE Interactive, a Canadian Web site publisher led by Hoffman who is the firm’s chief executive and managing director.
Hoffman shared her insights into how the affiliate marketing landscape has gained sophistication over the past seven years, and what she sees as the need for many affiliate marketers to change their present business models to survive.
Before leaving Hoffman spoke about what affiliate marketers can gain from putting themselves in the position of the search engines as they look toward the future, and shared tips on working with a process that takes into account what she sees as universal indicators.
