While at the Las Vegas PubCon conference in November SearchEngineWorld video content producer Vanessa Zamora caught up with Dixon Jones, who is the managing director at U.K.-based Internet marketing company Receptional Ltd., and asked him about his work with the firm and his experiences speaking and moderating sessions at PubCon.

In their interview, Jones shared his thoughts about where search is headed in the coming years, the striking differences between a thin affiliate Web site and a legitimate cost-comparison site and how Google tells them apart, and the emerging field of engagement mapping.

Jones, who spoke at PubCon’s “Effective Link Building Strategies” session and moderated sessions including “International Search Engine Optimization,” told Zamora about how social media properties may help break down the Google monopoly, and shared some of the information that he feels would be difficult to find outside of PubCon.
