During the recent Las Vegas PubCon conference in Las Vegas SearchEngineWorld video content producer Vanessa Zamora caught up with Roger B. Dooley, who is vice president of Web product management at Cincinnati-based college enrollment management company Hobsons U.S.
In their video interview, Dooley told Zamora about founding College Confidential in 2001, which later led to an acquisition by Hobsons. Dooley explained how Hobsons has sought to generate traffic and build an online community that is a valued resource to visitors, using a model similar to that of WebmasterWorld, with discussion forum moderators in place to help keep things in check.
Dooley, who has been a regular session speaker at the PubCon events, spoke with Zamora about using neuro-marketing and behavioral research in community building efforts and shared insight into the altruistic brain and its affect on gender marketing.
Before concluding their interview, Dooley spoke about what he learns from a PubCon experience where there is always an abundance of new information and insightful commentary to learn from.
