EU Hits Google with $3.5B Antitrust Fine

The European Commission has fined Google $3.4 billion for abusing its dominance in advertising technology, marking one of the largest penalties ever levied against the tech giant. Regulators said Google favored its own display ad services over rivals, distorting competition and harming publishers, advertisers, and consumers. The Commission, which began its probe in 2021, gave Google 60 days to propose remedies or face even stronger sanctions.
