Google Labs Launches Pomelli for AI-Generated, On-Brand Marketing for SMBs

Google pomelli

Google Labs has released Pomelli, an AI marketing experiment designed to help smb's create on-brand campaigns without design or agency level budgets. The project is a joint effort between Google Labs and Google DeepMind, and it’s now in public beta (in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand).

For web site owners, this could mark an early look at Google’s direction in AI-assisted brand automation - a space traditionally dominated by tools like Canva and Adobe Express.

What Pomelli Does

Pomelli promises to create scalable, on-brand content across social, ad, and website channels in three steps:

  1. Build your Business DNA
Enter your website URL, and Pomelli analyzes your site to extract your brand’s visual and tonal fingerprint — fonts, colors, tone of voice, and image style. That “Business DNA” becomes the foundation for every campaign it generates.
  2. Generate campaign ideas
Using that DNA, Pomelli suggests creative directions, messaging angles, and campaign themes tailored to your brand.
  3. Produce and edit branded creatives
Pomelli then outputs a batch of ready-to-use images, captions, and ad creatives that match your established style. Everything can be edited and downloaded directly inside the tool. (very cool folks)

Why Site Owners Should Pay Attention

  • Faster content production: You can feed Pomelli your existing site and get usable assets in minutes.
  • Consistent look and tone: Because it derives your branding from your own website, the resulting assets should align with your established brand.
  • Campaign ideation: For small teams that struggle to come up with new campaign hooks, Pomelli acts as a strategy assistant as much as a design tool.

This experiment also hints at where Google may be heading: integrating brand-level AI understanding into its wider marketing ecosystem. A future link between Pomelli, Google Ads, and Business Profiles wouldn’t be surprising.

Early Access

Pomelli is live now in beta for English-language users in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Google says it’s gathering feedback to refine the experience before expanding further.
