Googles ongoing war against Ad blockers reached a milestone last week, with Google removing Ublock Origin ad blocker. Ublock Origin was one of the most popular adblockers you could install for Chrome, and Chrome variants. It has been blocked by Google about seven months ago, but intrepid users had found ways to install it.
Users reacted across social media including multiple scathing Reddit threads:
Salute the idiots still using chrome
May they one day figure out there are browsers that don’t try to screw them.
The most popular refrain has been to use a different browser:
Yeah. I don’t get the love for Chrome. The scrolling in the bookmarks area is so freaking slow if you have tons of bookmarks and it doesn’t remember where you left off and have to scroll all the way from the top to the bottom again.
Some are saying that you can still re-enable it through some easy Chrome settings:
– Right-click your Chrome shortcut.
– Go to Properties.
– At the end or the Target field, after /chrome.exe”, paste: –disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled
