Google announced at a private closed door event in Madrid Spain that “Discover” will also come to the desktop experience.
For those that haven’t run into Discover yet, you need to use the Google Search App on mobile. It is a personalized stream of content, such as articles, videos, and news that are tailored to your interests. Discover proactively surfaces information based on your previous interactions with Google, including your search history, web activity, and YouTube viewing habits. Originally launched as Google Feed, it relaunched in 2018 as Discover. Many believe this is Googles new ‘portal’ page they killed a decade ago. It weirdly becomes this self-referential feed that only seems to lead to lots of Google properties like YouTube.
