How to Add SearchEngineWorld as a Preferred Source on Google

Sew preferred sources

Google’s Preferred Sources feature rolled out on August 12, when it quietly rolled out as part of Google’s move toward more appeasing publishers that are enraged at Google AI zero click Serps. Every publisher on the planet has covered story after story of "how to get us to show up in Google News". We couldn't help but grovel down ourselves - lol!

If you want to see SearchEngineWorld stories appear more often in your Top Stories, News, or “From your sources” results, you can set that up in a few quick steps.

How to Add SearchEngineWorld as a Preferred Source

  1. Go to Google’s Search Preferences page
  2. Scroll to the section labeled Preferred Sources
  3. Type SearchEngineWorld.com in the field and select it
  4. Click Save

That’s all it takes. Once added, Google will prioritize our coverage when you search for topics related to SEO, digital marketing, and search technology.

Why/Can This Matter?

  • Preferred Sources lets users tell Google which outlets they trust.
  • Adding SearchEngineWorld helps our independent SEO and marketing coverage stay visible in Google’s evolving search experience.
  • It also personalizes your own results, giving you faster access to the news and analysis you actually want.
